A new shingle style cape home was completed in the summer of 2023 and designed to be the younger sister to a larger home across the street. The front porch was designed for sitting and visiting with passersby, neighbors and family who have all inhabited this small enclave for generations. This is a family home designed for children, adults, slamming screen doors and little bare feet. While the exterior needed to fit within the vernacular of the street, the interior architectural details are a bit cleaner and distinctly fitting for this modern and busy family.

“The palette is less expected for a cape home and more casual, focusing on a light and tonal palette with texture and accessible materials. We used a lot of lighter wood tones to give it an inviting and warm feel.
