WATER/ Chatham Stage Island
Chatham Stage Island became a second home for the Virginia-based client who was constantly traveling for work and sought a respite along the idyllic shores of Cape Cod. After enlisting an architect and pouring the foundation, Liz and her team were brought on board to help manage the design and materials selections for this ground-up build and design of the home where along with her husband, she planned to spend weekends and summer with their children and grandchildren. In managing this large construction and design project, Liz was adamant about keeping the incredible views front and center and keeping the interiors neutral, with added strokes of color, texture and ocean-friendly finishes that would stand the test of time. The team selected durable and natural materials like teak, walnut, woven leather, thick Belgian linens, and wool and sisal rugs that would clean easily and only get better with age. This transitional interior feels fresh and unfussy and one guaranteed to not date itself, a true reflection of the client’s vision.
